Wat Mahathat (วัดมหาธาตุ)

Wat Mahathat is a must-see when you go to Ayutthaya.

When I visited in person, the most memorable thing was the Buddha head surrounded by tree roots. When I actually encountered the scene that I had only seen in pictures, I felt strangely reverent.

Most of the inside of the temple remains as red brick ruins, and as I walked through them, I could feel the traces of the old kingdom. Although it is not that large, the atmosphere was really quiet and special.

It is a great place to take pictures, and it is close to the surrounding temples, so it is good to visit together, so I recommend you visit at least once.
