Wat Phong Sunan, an ancient temple located within the old city walls of Phrae, is home to the principal Buddha image, Phra Chao Saen Suk, which is over 570 years old. The temple also features the Glass Vihara with 108 spires, housing sacred relics and a wooden Phra Surasawadee statue made from jackfruit wood, along with stunning mural paintings. Along the temple wall, there is a large reclining Buddha, and to the right, a beautifully preserved ancient scripture hall. The side gate showcases a golden stupa, a giant turtle, and a standing Buddha image known as Phra Chao Thanjai. Visiting Wat Phong Sunan to pay respects and make wishes is believed to bring happiness, career advancement, and safe travels.
