An unPhuketable old town visit.

Phuket old town was high on my list when I landed and I was super excited to visit, waking up on planned day to persistent rain wasn’t great. But, I was really happy with how my day panned out.

I took a grab from my hotel to the old town and it had cleared up a little bit, so I wandered around the old streets until the rain came back.

I’d you’re travelling in the rain season the old town is still doable in a day, just plan your cafes ahead of time.

I stopped at around 5/6 cafes in the day trying out coffee,
Cakes and small plates - so many of the forte shops do small side dishes which are perfect to nibble on. Also most of the coffee shops and cafes have big windows to keep on top of the rain, as soon as it dries up you can pay up and get wandering.

Always have your next coffee shop or restaurant in mind and head to that area, so when it starts to rain again you’re not far from shelter.

Even at the busiest times of the day staff had no issue with people chilling at a table with one drink waiting for the rain to pass, the vibe here is so laid back.

Out in the streets there’s lots of street art, souvenir shops and general curiosities to keep you busy. Just follow the grid lay out and make sure to check out all the alleyways, so many hidden gems in the backstreets! #thailand #phuketoldtown #phuket #coffee #cafe #urbanexplorer #tripblazers
