Wat Chalong, also known as Wat Chaiyathararam, is the largest and most important Buddhist temple in Phuket. Founded in 1837, it honours two highly respected monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who played a vital role during the 1876 Chinese rebellion. One of the special experiences at Wat Chalong is the opportunity to meet and receive blessings from the monks. Visitors can approach the monks respectfully, and if available.
