A Relaxing Escape at Barceló

We had a truly delightful stay at Barceló. The personnel were incredibly welcoming and attentive, particularly Kyle at Kabang restaurant during lunch. He was exceptionally approachable and even remembered our names, which added a personal touch. Our room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, featuring a jacuzzi that we thoroughly relished. The only drawback was the shower—my boyfriend stands at 6'7 and couldn't fit comfortably, and even I found it cramped at 5'7, so it’s definitely rather small. However, the rest of the resort compensated for this issue—it’s well-maintained, picturesque, and boasts numerous pools. The golf buggy trips to and from the villa with our luggage were quite convenient. As for the food and beverages, they were excellent—breakfast offered an extensive selection, and we sampled both the Thai and Italian restaurants, which were pleasant. Bar drinks were reasonably priced, and we enjoyed watching football there, as the staff added to the lively atmosphere. The games room wasn’t ideal (somewhat dim, lacking air conditioning/fans, and the football table often broke), yet it didn't mar our stay. It's true that prices are a bit higher than other nearby locations, but the exceptional service and serene environment make it worthwhile. We believe it’s better suited for older visitors seeking a tranquil holiday. Being in our early 20s, it was perfect for one or two nights to relax and rejuvenate, but we wouldn’t opt for a longer stay. A delightful extra is the proximity to Coconut Seafood, which is just a 5–10 minute beach walk away; it offers more affordable options, a varied menu, and a more traditional Thai ambiance. Overall, we had a fantastic experience—stunning setting, wonderful staff, comfortable room (apart from the small shower!)—and we'd still rate it 5 stars.
