Chillva Market - the best in Phuket?

This market was unlike any other I visited in Phuket. It was bustling on a weekday evening despite the recent change of weather to a drizzle and the atmosphere was festive.

A live band was playing. Clothing and jewelry stalls were packed with items that were of higher quality than the ones I had seen at other markets, and the food options catered to a wide variety of dietary preferences.

So what should you get? Definitely get the beef kebabs with pineapple, green pepper and tomato. The flavor was amazing! If you don’t go for meat, then give the “baby pancakes” a try. They were warm, fluffy, remarkably cute and different syrups were available for drizzling over them. The grilled pork you see amongst my pictures was packed with flavor too, but, once again, if that isn’t for you, there were several stalls with halal products. Bars and a massage parlor were available too.

Frankly speaking, it’s hard to imagine anyone walking out of Chillva market hungry or disappointed. I certainly hope your experience there is a pleasant one. Bon appetit!
