Wat Sri Sunthon, Phuket Province

This Wat Sri Sunthon is located in Tambon Sri Sunthon, Amphoe Thalang, Phuket Province. It is a prominent and beautiful temple with a large reclining Buddha statue over 95 feet tall, which represents the Lord Buddha at the time of his nirvana. There are also other beautiful Buddha statues lined up at the entrance. This temple was built over a hundred years ago in 1792 and was originally known as Wat Lipon. However, the temple later changed its name to Wat Sri Sunthon to commemorate the two heroines who protected Thalang City or Phuket Province in the past. Inside the temple, there is a 6-meter wide and 12-meter long Ubosot. The construction is in the ancient style, with only one back wall. The other three sides are only half-full.
