Weekend Escape from Xi'an｜Pingliang Kongtong Mountain 2-Day Slow Train Hiking Healing Trip

Two days, leisurely riding a rocking train 🚞, clanging and climbing the mountain ⛰️ Here is a super detailed 2-day travel guide for Pingliang Kongtong Mountain, highly recommended to save~

🚆 Transportation:
Depart from Xianyang/Xi'an at 7:00 AM on Saturday, direct train to Pingliang, arriving at 11:47, tickets only 46.5 yuan 💰 super cost-effective!
After exiting the station, you can choose:
1️⃣ Bus directly to Kongtong Mountain Scenic Area
2️⃣ Take a few bus stops to the city center for a stroll and lunch
🛺 Taxi to the scenic area only costs 20 yuan, make sure to set the destination to Kongtong Mountain Ancient Town (Address: At the foot of Kongtong Mountain, Pingliang City, Gansu Province)

⛰️ Kongtong Mountain Guide:
🎫 Ticket price 110 yuan/person (1-5 yuan discounts may be available on various platforms)
Shuttle bus prices:
➡️ Up to Zhongtai: 32 yuan/person
➡️ Up to Xiangshan: 48 yuan/person
❗️ Only one-way tickets can be purchased

🚶 Four hiking routes:
1️⃣ Pure walking route: 110 yuan, full hike (leg fatigue warning ⚠️)
2️⃣ Economy route: 142 yuan, up to Zhongtai + climb Xiangshan + walk down
3️⃣ Lazy route: 142 + 48 yuan, up to Zhongtai + climb Xiangshan + shuttle bus down
4️⃣ Reverse route: 158 yuan, up Xiangshan + walk down (knee strain warning)

We chose the lazy route, about 4 hours total, walking slowly~ The mountain path with eighteen bends is super thrilling! 😆

🍜 Food recommendations:
📍 Zhengjun Stir-fried Pork Slices (Address: Xinmin South Road, Kongtong District, Pingliang City)
🌟 Must order: Stir-fried pork slices, specialty cold dishes (really amazing!)
The small oil apricots 🍑 sold on the street are purely sweet with no sourness, definitely try them~

🏨 Accommodation tips:
We stayed at New Century Hotel (Address: No.1 Xinmin North Road, Kongtong District, Pingliang City)
❌ Not recommended: Front desk service is average + bed is too hard

✨ Day 2 itinerary:
Wake up naturally and visit Yuantong Temple (no ticket required, open 8:00-17:00)
The exquisite architecture is spectacular! Great for photos 📸
Take the 13:45 train back to Xi'an/Xianyang, a perfect end to a happy weekend~

💡 Tips:
- Taxi starting fare is 6 yuan, don’t get scammed
- You can buy Kongtong yellow wine and specialty steamed buns as souvenirs at New Century supermarket
- Remember to wear comfortable shoes
