Self-driving tour to Shuangxi Ancient Town. The cultural and historical heritage of the ancient town can be traced back to the late Tang Dynasty. Since the second year of Qianhua in the Later Liang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties (913 AD), when the ancestor of the Lu family settled here, it has been 1093 years, making it a veritable thousand-year-old town. The town currently preserves cultural relics such as the Confucian Temple, City God Temple, Ruiguang Pagoda, Beiyan Temple, and ancient residential buildings.
The ancient town has free admission, and the tour takes more than 2 hours. The City God Temple, Zhou's old house, Xue's house, and the Confucian Temple are mostly from the Qing Dynasty. On the right side of the entrance to the town, there is Tashan Park, which has the Enguang Pagoda and a viewing platform on the mountain, where you can view Shuangxi Town and watch the sunrise and sunset.
Passing through the 'Chengzhu Gate' archway and stepping on the stone-paved road, a small street full of a sense of age, very retro and nostalgic. The shops on both sides of the outer street of 'Chengzhu Gate' are relatively new, with small shops, food stalls, snack bars, and homestays. Some of the street shops have 1 or 2 floors for dining and 3 or 4 floors for homestays. Shuangxi scallion pancakes are a local specialty snack, and the 'Old Place' beef noodle shop is also good. The most important thing is the coolness, and it is recommended to come here to escape the heat if you have time. Nearby are the Yuanyang Stream and Baishuiyang scenic spots.
