Come to Pingtan to see the blue tears! 🌊 This island closest to Taiwan is perfect for a vacation, with its azure seas, blue skies, and ancient stone villages—every shot is postcard-worthy. Here’s a laid-back 2-day, 1-night travel guide for you~
🚗 Recommended Itinerary:
Day 1: 68-Nautical-Mile Scenic Area → Longfengtou Beach → Tannan Bay
📍 68-Nautical-Mile Scenic Area: The closest point on the mainland to Taiwan (actually 68 nautical miles away). Don’t miss the photo op at the "Closest Point to Taiwan Island on Mainland China" monument. The area includes small islands like Houyan Island, great for hiking and photography. (Address: Aoqian Town, Pingtan County)
📍 Longfengtou Beach: Stunning sunset views here in the evening. The soft sand is perfect for beach activities like ATV rides. Stay nearby for easy sunrise viewing the next morning~
📍 Tannan Bay: If you’re lucky, you might spot the blue tears at night! Bring a jacket—the sea breeze can get chilly.
Day 2: Beigang Cultural Village → Changjiangao Windmill Field
📍 Beigang Cultural Village: A creative district transformed from a traditional stone village, filled with artsy shops and cafés. Don’t miss the "Singing Stones" café! (Address: Beigang Village, Liushui Town, Pingtan County)
📍 Changjiangao Windmill Field: Giant white windmills stand by the sea. The best light for photos is in the afternoon, around 4-5 PM. You might even see local fishermen at work—a slice of local life~
🍤 Food Recommendations:
✅ Shisanmei Xianmishi: A Pingtan specialty snack with chewy outer layers (Address: Longfeng Road)
✅ Haitan Specialty Snacks: Various seafood dishes—must-tries include Shilaiyunzhuan and Bazhen Chaogao
✅ Maoji Chaoshan Seafood Claypot Porridge: Their shrimp porridge is delicious, and it’s especially popular at night (Address: Xihang Road)
🏡 Accommodation Tips:
Highly recommend staying near Longwangtou Beach—just a 5-minute walk to catch the sunrise! We stayed at "Pingtan Haoxiang International Hotel," which has an amazing ocean view from the balcony~
❗ Practical Tips:
1. Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! The island’s UV rays are intense.
2. Blue tears are most common from April to June, but sightings aren’t guaranteed.
3. Rent an e-bike for getting around the island—about 80 RMB/day.
4. Bring a jacket if visiting after October—the sea winds get strong.
