In the blink of an eye, it was the third and final day of our trip! Early in the morning, our first stop was Haban Bay (Venice Beach) - the sand here is completely different from the rocky beaches we visited the past two days! Walking on the beach with slippers no longer hurts our feet, and the soft sand makes you want to jump, run, and feel the embrace of the sun and sea breeze 🌞.
At Haban Bay, you can observe sea turtles up close, but safety is paramount! Remember to keep a safe distance, as touching a sea turtle can result in a fine of 300,000 TWD. Also, you can't just pick up seafood around here, as the prices start at 30,000 TWD. Fortunately, the conservationists here are super friendly and chatty. They told me the best angles for taking photos and shared interesting facts about various marine creatures, which I found very educational!
Additionally, the crabs here are huge, clearly untouched by humans, making them true treasures of nature 🤣!
As time flew by, the final task of the third day was to buy souvenirs! When it comes to Xiaoliuqiu, the first thing that comes to mind is the twisted dough sticks (mahua)~
• If you like classic flavors, I highly recommend Longzuan's plum and seaweed flavors, which are rich and unforgettable.
• If you want to try something different, Baoge's wasabi flavor is incredibly addictive - I accidentally ate half a bag in one day 😅!
After shopping for souvenirs, we visited the duty-free shop next to the port. If you want to buy sweet potato crisps, the tax-free prices here are quite a bargain!
Finally, we treated ourselves to a sumptuous seafood feast in Donggang. The seafood was incredibly delicious, with every bite being a perfect memory of this trip. If I have the chance, I will definitely come back to Xiaoliuqiu for another round of this dual enjoyment of food and scenery.
