New Taipei Pingxi Route│Youkeng Trail—Visiting the Secret Youkeng Waterfall (Nine-Layer Waterfall)

Youkeng Historic Trail is located between Sandiaoling Station and Dahua Station on the Pingxi Line. It is a sparsely populated hiking trail with green paths, small bridges and flowing water. It has been the connecting road between Yuliaozai and Youkeng since the Qing Dynasty.

After getting off at Sandiaoling Station, walk along the stream to the trailhead. The trail is a muddy path with unclear signs along the way. You will pass through tunnels along the way. You can choose to walk through one tunnel after another in the dark, or continue along the ancient trail.

The tunnel is a faster way to reach Youkeng Waterfall. You need to go through at least 5 to 6 tunnels. The train passes through every 20 to 30 minutes. The trail is safer in comparison.
