Arenal Volcano is located about 147 kilometers north of San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, with an altitude of 1,633 meters. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and the most famous volcano in Costa Rica.
There are many steaming hot spring rivers around the volcano, attracting a large number of tourists every day.
Figure 1-7, Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridge Park. The vegetation coverage, humidity and oxygen content here are extremely high, and the canopy suspension bridge is very exciting! When you reach the highest point (45 meters), you will see sloths crawling slowly under your feet and howler monkeys screaming overhead.
Figure 8, La Fortuna Town is an internet-famous town where tourists rush to check in. It is said that the town was originally named El Borio. When the Arenal Volcano erupted in July 1968, magma covered more than 700 hectares of the surface, turning everything it passed into scorched earth. Although the volcano has continued to erupt on a small scale since then, the small town on the east side was spared because the magma flowed to the northwest, and became the best place to view the volcano. The town was renamed "La Fortuna", which means "the lucky place", and became famous.

Figure 15-16, Poas volcano is an active volcano that only emits smoke but does not spew magma. After arriving, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the crater observation point, where you can hear the roar of the volcano and smell the sulfur. Most of the time the crater is obscured by clouds and fog, so you have to rely on luck. Each group is limited to 20 minutes of observation, and if you cannot see it, you have to take turns. It is very attractive to those who have never seen an active volcano. Although we were unfortunately unable to see it due to the clouds, it was still a great experience to experience the volcanic eruption and heat wave up close.
