Porto's Shopping Hotspot: Flores Street
This bustling street is lined with restaurants and shops!
There are souvenirs sold only here, so I highly recommend checking them out, even if just for fun! 😆!!
First up is #MajesticCafé, a must-visit spot in Porto!
It's known that Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling visited and wrote here. The French toast is famous, and you won't regret it. The atmosphere is truly captivating... 💕
The marble floors and antique furniture create a luxurious harmony. The wooden frames are particularly striking :) The mirrors and door frames are ornately decorated, and the dark colors create a sense of sophistication without being overpowering. The large mirrors on the walls also help to create a welcoming atmosphere despite the narrow, long space.
Recommended shops on Flores Street:
1. meia.dúzia
#Meiadúzia is famous for its #paintjam, aka #paintjam, a tube jam that you squeeze out like paint!! There were so many varieties, lol
I was so curious that I tried everything they gave me😂 But after eating more, my mouth started to get sweeter, and at some point, I just wanted to buy unsweetened jams. LOL So I chose orange jam, but the salesperson heavily promoted it, saying it was IU's favorite. LOL They must have a lot of Korean customers, so they know how to use their sales strategies. 😏 They also sell interesting products like flavored olive oil. :)
2. Castro
#EggTartHottest! #Castro is the most stylish and trendy egg tart shop in Porto. 🤍 Beyond the taste, this place is definitely worth a visit, especially since the shop is so pretty!! (The bathroom is also amazing. LOL) It was the second best nata I've had in Porto. The crispy pastry was delicious, but the custard was sweeter than I expected. Two for €3 :)
3. Loja das Tábuas
This is a kitchenware shop! I stumbled upon this place while wandering Flores Street, and it's a bit of a treasure trove. In coastal cities, natural salt is harvested and sold relatively cheaply. This shop sold salt not only from the seas around Portugal, but also from other straits. They even had it in pretty ceramic jars...🤍 Of course, it tastes like salt, lol. It's hard to find elsewhere, and it's practical, so I was tempted to buy it. The wooden spoon on the side was also super cute. :)
4. MUD
This leather goods store specializes in small, pastel-colored leather bags. :) What's unique about it is that they use real wood for the sides of the bags! This helps them maintain their shape without losing their shape. :) The inside of the leather was covered with a thin layer of cork, which felt soft to the touch.
I heard this is actually a bicycle company, and they make bags using leftover leather and wood from bicycle parts. Since it's run by a family of Porto's leading artists, I felt it was worth the money. :)
