Georgetown, Guyana 🇬🇾 – Demerara River Sunset
Kaieteur Falls is Guyana's main attraction. Although not as spectacular as the three major waterfalls or Angel Falls, it is still worth seeing as the world's largest single-drop waterfall. Kaieteur Falls is located in the rainforests of southwestern Guyana and can only be reached by plane. Due to aircraft maintenance at the charter company, today's waterfall tour was canceled, which is a pity. The itinerary was temporarily changed to a sunset cruise on the Demerara River.

Before sunset, countless birds flew to the woods on the banks of the Demerara River to grab territory. The small trees looked like they were full of white and red flowers. The birds that I could name were: yellow cattle egrets, white snowy egrets, very few Harris's hawks, and not many scarlet ibises, which finally made a grand appearance after much anticipation. There were also a few black and gray ones that I couldn't name... I guess they must be spending the night on the branches. I watched the birds in front of me and turned around to watch the sunset. The two hours passed quickly, and it didn't seem like a pity that I didn't get to see Kaieteur Falls, the world's largest single-drop waterfall.
