Winter fairy tale Prague! A three-day slow-paced artistic journey 🚶♀️
Prague is truly perfect for leisurely strolling, with surprises around every corner. The Vltava River flows through the city, Gothic spires and Baroque domes intertwine to form the skyline, it’s like a real-life fairy tale world 📖
📍 Must-visit attractions:
1️⃣ Prague Castle District
The largest ancient castle complex in Europe, recommended to visit right at 9 AM when it opens to avoid crowds. Must-see are St. Vitus Cathedral and Golden Lane. The viewing platform on Castle Hill offers a panoramic view of the city, with beautiful red rooftops!
2️⃣ Charles Bridge
Absolutely don’t miss the bridge at 6-7 AM when the statues appear faintly in the mist, the light and shadow are stunning. During the day, street performers entertain, but it’s very crowded. Tip: Both ends of the bridge have towers you can climb.
3️⃣ Old Town Square
The Astronomical Clock shows the twelve apostles every hour on the hour, arrive 5 minutes early to get a good spot. Nearby, the Church of Our Lady before Týn is called the "Devil’s Church," its Gothic spires are very distinctive.
4️⃣ Dancing House
An oddity among modern buildings, the glass restaurant on the top floor has an amazing view (reservation required). Recommended to visit at dusk to capture the building’s silhouette against the sunset.
5️⃣ Vyšehrad
A local secret viewpoint where you can see the most beautiful bend of the Vltava River. Fewer people and beautiful scenery, perfect for artistic youth who love quiet photography.
🍴 Food recommendations:
- Café Louvre (Einstein’s favorite café)
- U Fleků Brewery (must-try century-old dark beer)
- Trdelník (chimney cake dessert found everywhere on the street)
💡 Practical tips:
- Buying the Prague Card is super cost-effective, including public transport and attraction tickets
- The cobblestone streets in the Old Town are very hard on feet, be sure to wear comfortable sneakers
- It gets dark as early as 5 PM in winter, plan your itinerary accordingly
