The hike begins at the Rifugio Auronzo parking lot, which is also the starting point for the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop.
From the rifugio, follow the well-trodden trail #117 away from the Tre Cime peaks. You will hike slightly downhill at first, with a view of the Auronzo valley.
After about 15–20 minutes, the path will level out. Continue following the trail as it undulates and climbs gently up a ridgeline.
