The very name of Ruiyun Mountain carries a poetic quality. Tall bamboos line the mountain path, clear springs flow along the rocks, and the occasional chime of bells echoes through the forest, like circles of visible silence. The ancient temple walls are lightly covered with moss, and the wooden doorknobs shine from being rubbed. Looking up, I see yellowish prayer flags, and looking down, I see pine needles falling on the edges of my shoes.
By the time I reached the summit, the clouds were already approaching, and the wind pulled the hems of my clothes back, making the mountains and rivers seem even more distant. Sitting on the edge of a rock, drinking my kettle to the bottom, I suddenly understood the meaning of "clear": it's not emptiness, but rather a simplification of complexity. Ruiyun Mountain isn't about stunning grandeur; it strengthens in a gentle way—allowing you to replenish your strength in silence and correct your course in the distant view. On the way down, I passed a small tea stall, and the owner offered me a cup of hot tea. I breathed in the warm steam, feeling that my journey was worthwhile.
