Second Trip to Qingdao: A Stress-Free Summer Itinerary for Kids

After visiting Qingdao last year, my kid couldn't stop talking about returning to see the ocean again. With summer vacation here, it was time to plan another trip!
We always keep our travel schedule relaxed – leisure is the priority!
Moms who share the same philosophy can follow our itinerary: kid-friendly, budget-friendly, and most importantly, mom-friendly!

**Day 1: Depart from Beijing to Qingdao Station**
**Morning:** Arrive at the homestay to drop off luggage → Walk to German Street (charming European-style architecture, like a fairy-tale town for kids).
**Noon:** Enjoy spare rib rice near German Street.
**Afternoon:** Visit Xiaoqingdao Park (take bus 202/316 to "Lu Xun Park Station").
Stroll by the sea and flowers, then head to Xiaomai Island for sunset.
⚠️ Originally, we planned to visit Badaguan in the afternoon, but it was under renovation when we arrived!
Check ahead to avoid disappointment!

Keep the first day light – explore the night market in the evening and pick up some souvenirs.

This brings me to the homestay we booked on **Tujia**. The location was perfect!
At **COFCO Joy City**, right next to the subway station, making it easy to get anywhere.
The Tsingtao Beer Museum was within walking distance! Convenience stores and food stalls downstairs made snacks and meals a breeze.
**The room:** My kid fell in love instantly – cozy, clean, and fully equipped (smart toilet, projector, etc.). The little one had a blast! For families, there’s even an automatic mahjong table for evening fun. The beds were comfy, and we both slept soundly. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a great view!
**Service:** The host was incredibly thoughtful! They contacted me in advance with a detailed check-in guide and recommended kid-friendly spots, making everything hassle-free.

Well-fed and well-rested, we were ready for **Day 2!**

**Day 2:**
**Morning:** **Qingdao Naval Museum**
Just a 15-minute subway ride from the homestay. The indoor AC kept us cool while the kids learned about naval history.
**Noon:** Lunch near Zhanqiao Pier.
**Afternoon:** Beach time! Since we stayed near COFCO Joy City, the closest beach was **No. 3 Bathing Beach** (also accessible by subway).
⚠️ The Naval Museum requires reservations **at least 10 days in advance**! Otherwise, you can still snap great photos from the bridge to Xiaoqingdao.

**Day 3:**
**Morning:** Taxi to **University Road** for the iconic red wall (expect crowds at the corner – skip if busy).
**Noon:** Seafood noodles near Qinyu Road – unbelievably fresh!
**Afternoon:** Pack up, check out, and wander along Longjiang Road to soak in Qingdao’s vibe before heading home.

This trip was a blast, thanks to **Tujia Homestay**! The platform is reliable, with a wide selection of high-quality stays. The real videos in the app help avoid bad picks, and they even offer compensation if you’re unsatisfied – total peace of mind!

Parents, go for it! Easy, convenient, and mom-approved.
To book the homestay from this guide, **copy the link** (top right) and open it in the Tujia app, or tap **"Book with Discount"** (bottom left) to claim coupons first – super convenient!
Summer’s for fun, and staying in a homestay is the way to go!
