We made a weekend trip to Qingdao and it was my very first time to go there. Just a few hours with high speed train from Beijing. I will share some of the highlights.
The tree nearby the Sea
This is a restaurant/bar that we were recommended to go to and it was a pleasant experience. It’s more of a brown pub environment with western food. We had pizza and it was excellent. We also greeted the energetic owner Jane who used to live in Beijing before.
The beer museum
I don’t normally visit museums when I travel however this one was a must when in Qingdao. Absolutely enjoyed it, before you exit you can have your own picture labeled on a bottle of beer and there is a tasting area by the exit. We tried the different beers on tap and brought a bag of beer with us home from the museum restaurant.
Zhanqiao Pier
Long pier with The signature chinese style pavilion also featured on the beer bottles. Lots of people feeding seagulls there.
May forth square
We came here in the evening just to have a look at the monument and it turned out to be pretty cool with lights on the surrounding buildings.
Hyatt Regency
We stayed at this hotel just at the beach. Going in March was not the warmest weather and we had a little rain however it was not too cold to walk around. Nice to have a walk along the beach. Probably very crowded in the summer.
There was so much more to see however the weekend went by really fast. Probably have to come back at home point.
