Hidden Ways to Play in Red River Valley Revealed! A Nanny-Level Guide to Climbing Shenxian Ridge with Kids

Who knew Red River Valley could be this fun! This time, I successfully climbed Shenxian Ridge with my 5-year-old baby.

🌤️ In-depth Experience at Shenxian Ridge Scenic Area

Three must-visit spots tested:

1️⃣ Lingyun Plank Road

Looks thrilling but actually very safe! Kids 4 years and older can walk independently.

The view is super wide, you can see the entire valley panorama.

Recommended to go in the morning or evening; it’s really too sunny at noon.

2️⃣ Glass Viewing Platform

Although there is an extra fee, it’s really worth the ticket price!

38 RMB per person for the viewing platform, perfect for photos.

My baby was a bit scared the first time standing on it but later didn’t want to leave.

Tip: Wear bright clothes for better photos.

3️⃣ Shenxian Ridge Summit

This part is indeed challenging for kids! It’s all stairs.

Our 5-year-old climbed for 2 hours with 4 breaks along the way.

The view at the summit is actually not as good as the viewing platform.

If you just want to enjoy the scenery, the viewing platform is enough.

📝 My super detailed schedule:

13:20 Start climbing from Lingyun Plank Road starting point

14:00 Arrive at Glass Viewing Platform (30 minutes for photos and rest)

14:20 Continue towards Shenxian Ridge

16:20 Successfully reach the summit! Baby felt super accomplished

16:40 Start descending, choose to take the cable car

17:30 Arrive at cable car station (40 minutes queue)

18:20 Return to parking lot

💡 Parent-child hiking essentials:

• Enough water and energy snacks

• Three-piece sun protection set: hat, arm sleeves, sunscreen

• Lightweight backpack for easy adding/removing clothes

• Band-aids and disinfectant wipes

• Baby’s favorite encouraging snacks

This time, except for Doumu Waterfall, we checked in at all other spots.
