"Mountain breezes, river delicacies, splashing water, and slow-paced time"—Qingyuan truly understands the relaxation everyone craves! Tired of the city's hustle and bustle? Come here for a getaway and give your soul a break!
🚗 Transportation Options
1. High-speed rail: From Guangzhou to Qingyuan Station, just over 20 minutes—fast and convenient.
2. Self-drive: Drive from nearby cities and enjoy scenic views along the way, but avoid peak hours during holidays to prevent traffic jams.
🏞 Itinerary
**Day 1: Gulong Gorge → Beijiang River Cruise**
Morning: Visit Gulong Gorge, a national AAAA-level scenic spot, known as the "King of Rafting." Experience thrilling attractions like the Sky Glass Bridge—walking on the glass walkway with a deep canyon beneath, surrounded by waterfalls and cliffs, perfect for photos!
Noon: Enjoy signature dishes like black truffle fried chicken at Gulong Fisherman’s Village—tender chicken with rich truffle aroma.
Afternoon: Board a cruise from Nan’an Pier to admire the majestic Beijiang Three Gorges. Marvel at the 36 winding peaks and the stunning "high gorge forming a flat lake" scenery while savoring fresh river delicacies.
**Day 2: Yingxi Peak Forest → Dongtian Paradise**
Morning: Explore Yingxi Peak Forest, a typical karst landscape with towering peaks and winding streams, like stepping into a traditional Chinese painting. Rent a bike and leisurely ride through rural paths, stopping at Little Zhaozhou Bridge to soak in the pastoral views.
Noon: Try the local specialty—tofu feast! Jiulong tofu is crispy outside and tender inside, bursting with bean fragrance.
Afternoon: Visit Dongtian Paradise, the largest natural karst cave in South China, where a stream flows through the cave, forming a unique "❗"-shaped skylight. Walk along the suspended cave walkway, 100 meters above the ground, and gaze down at the breathtaking stalactites—nature’s masterpiece!
🍱 Food Recommendations
1. **Qingyuan Chicken**: A must-try! Whether white-cut, steamed, or soy-sauce braised, the meat is firm, the skin golden, and the bones red—tender and flavorful.
2. **Zhouxin Congee**: Slow-cooked with pork offal and bones, the porridge is silky and packed with ingredients—perfect for a hearty breakfast.
3. **Daocie Rice Cake**: Short strips resembling knife-cut noodles, cooked with minced meat, mushrooms, and snow peas into a warm, chewy delight.
4. **Ai Ci (Mugwort Rice Cake)**: Made with mugwort juice and glutinous rice flour, filled with peanut-sesame sugar or red bean paste—fragrant, sweet, and not cloying.
🏠 Accommodation Suggestions
1. **Qingxin Garden Hotel**: Centrally located with convenient transport, surrounded by great food, and offering full amenities and attentive service.
2. **Yingxi Peak Forest Boutique Homestays**: For a closer-to-nature experience, stay in a homestay near the peak forest—wake up to mountain views and stargaze at night.
❗ Travel Tips
1. For rafting, bring a change of clothes, a waterproof bag, and sun/water protection.
2. Yingxi Peak Forest has many mosquitoes—pack repellent.
