Introducing Laiyuan Cave

Laiyuan Karst Cave is located in Laiyuan Township, southwest of Liancheng County. There are thirteen caves of various sizes in the limestone hills covering an area of ​​nearly two square kilometers. The caves are characterized by jagged rocks, rugged terrain, caves within caves, and caves stacked on top of each other. The caves are winding and have unpredictable depths, like a maze. It is known as the " No. 1 Dragon Cave Group in East China " . Three of the most famous caves are " Youqin Cave ", " Xianyun Cave " and " Shiyan Cave " .

Youqin Cave gets its name from the melodious sound of the spring water flowing between the rocks. The cave is warm in winter and cool in summer, with fresh air. The stalactites hanging from the ceiling are long or short, thick or thin, hanging from the sky; the stone curtains attached to the cave walls are like curtains of the sky, and some are like rolled-up curtains in various shapes; the various stalagmites growing from the ground are of different thicknesses and shapes, like bamboo shoots after rain.

Xianyun Cave gets its name from the billowing clouds and mist that gush out of the cave all year round. The cave is full of jagged rocks and rugged terrain. There are caves within caves, and caves are stacked on top of each other. The cave passages are densely covered with forks inside and outside, winding and unpredictable, like a maze.

Shiyan Cave is named after the stone swallows that live in the cave. The bats living in the cave are hanging upside down on the top of the rocks. When people come, they are startled and fly like a flock of stone swallows, circling in the forks in the cave, buzzing incessantly.
