[Qingyuan, a hidden gem of a city!]

This time at Huangteng Gorge, I stayed in a stunning guesthouse. It doesn’t feel like a hotel, but more like a carefully crafted home halfway up the mountain.
Neighboring the canyon and far from the hustle and bustle, the car is parked on a wide meadow in front of the door. With a relaxed step, you can walk into this little world.
The living room on the first floor is a common area. Once you sit on the high-end leather sofa, you don’t want to get up. In the middle, there is a tea set and tea table. Boiling water, brewing tea, chatting with friends traveling together, watching the mountain scenery outside the window as dusk falls.
The room I stayed in is Japanese minimalist style. The tatami mattress is moderately firm. The huge floor-to-ceiling window and the extended terrace seem to invite the entire canyon view inside the room. In the morning, watch the mist winding around the mountains; in the evening, see the sunset glow dye the horizon. Doing nothing but daydreaming feels worthwhile.
It is only 600 meters from Huangteng Gorge Scenic Area. After an exhilarating rafting experience, you can return to this little nest within minutes. Take a hot shower to wash away fatigue and change into dry clothes. This is what a comfortable holiday should feel like.
