A poetic residence in the quiet time of Quanzhou

This time I went to Quanzhou on a business trip.
I wanted to relax myself on the last day,
so I didn’t choose to stay in the bustling ancient city,
but stayed in Wuji B&B on the bank of Quanzhou West Lake next to the ancient city.
·
🏠Space:
When I stepped into the B&B, the design of the entrance, which was first depressed and then uplifted, gave me a sudden and open visual experience. The space is cleverly designed, utilizing local stone from southern Fujian and interweaving it with wooden structures and green plants. Every detail is well thought out.
I particularly like the space in the lobby. From the almost unrepetitive chairs (I really want to sit on all of them), to the large vats designed in a porcelain-like style, to the several flower arrangements that brighten the vision, you can see the care put into the design by the owner and the design team. These are great spots that allow people to calm down and appreciate them slowly!
·
🛏Room:
My room is on the third floor, with a spacious layout and large floor-to-ceiling windows facing West Lake Park. The space of more than 50 square meters gives a lot of white space, which is not verbose at all. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light, and the sun shines on the windowsill. Sitting in the room, you can see the local people's park life and take in the view of West Lake in the distance. The decoration in the room is simple and exquisite, with wooden furniture and cotton and linen fabrics, creating a rustic and warm atmosphere.
The only thing I want to suggest is the bathroom. It's too big and too dark. It's dark when you take a shower at night. Please install more lights~
·
🍵Food:
Afternoon tea is provided when booking a room. You can enjoy a cup of fragrant tea in the lobby and try some exquisite Quanzhou-style snacks. The sun shines through the leaves, casting mottled light and shadows. Time seems to freeze at this moment.
I want to praise it here, because the flight left Quanzhou early the next morning. Before the original breakfast time, the kitchen aunt got up early and cooked hot ginger soup Yuanxiao for me, so that I could go home warm for the festival. Thank you~
·
📍Location:
There is a stop for the white car that shuttles through the ancient city at the door of the homestay. It is only a step away from the bustling West Street. The ancient streets and the bustling markets are all within easy reach.
Opposite is the West Lake Park, where you can stroll along the pace of the locals. In the evening, you can go to the Quanzhou Puppet Theater, about 3 kilometers away, to watch a show (highly recommended).
·
Here, I can enjoy the tranquil beauty of nature and feel the atmosphere of Quanzhou’s hustle and bustle, which gives me a spiritual rest in the midst of my busy life.
