Want to understand the essence of "Song and Yuan China through Quanzhou"? This museum holds the answers! The permanent exhibition "Sails of Citong" features hundreds of stone carvings, ship models, and spice artifacts, recreating the bustling scene of Quanzhou as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. Don't miss the Islamic Wind-Praying Stone Carvings, which bear witness to the cultural exchange between Arab merchants and locals.
The third-floor "Religion Gallery" is a fascinating journey: Hindu Vishnu stone sculptures, Christian Four-Winged Angel steles, and Manichaean relic steles are displayed side by side, evoking the golden era of coexistence among diverse beliefs. After your visit, take a short walk to the nearby Tianhou Temple and enjoy a bowl of refreshing stone jelly to cool off!
