Quanzhou Flower Hairpin Styling leverages Minnan traditional costume culture as a fulcrum to drive the industrial development of intangible cultural heritage's living inheritance. Its innovations are reflected in three aspects:
1. Restoring the century-old custom of Xunpu women "wearing flower hairpin rings and inserting ivory chopsticks," sparking social media buzz through celebrity influence, with related Douyin topics exceeding 2.5 billion views;
2. Developing a new "intangible cultural heritage experience + travel photography" model, with daily visitors to Xunpu Village surging from 200 to 8,000;
3. Extending the industry chain to include flower hairpin workshops and folk performances, boosting income for surrounding fishing homestays and cultural creative shops by over 300 million yuan.
The local government has also integrated flower hairpin elements into urban public art, creating the "Sea Garden" cultural IP. This practice of transforming dormant folk customs into fashionable symbols allows intangible cultural heritage to truly "live" in contemporary life, becoming a UNESCO "World Heritage Model Case."
