This lake is straight out of a fantasy movie — imagine a sunken forest rising out of turquoise water, with ghostly trees poking through the surface. It’s hidden in the mountains of southeastern Kazakhstan and getting there is half the adventure. I joined a day trip from Almaty and hiked around the lake, taking photos from every angle. So surreal and peaceful!
