Experience the History and Nature of Rishiri Island at the Rishiri Town Museum

The Rishiri Town Museum is a great spot to learn about the nature, history, lifestyle, and culture of Rishiri Island in an easy-to-understand way. 👓

The museum features fascinating exhibits such as a giant stuffed sea lion, an actual boat that was used, and displays of Rishiri Island's flowers. There’s also a life-sized diorama of a herring fishing hut and mannequins of "Yanshu" (fishermen), with conversations from the time recreated for visitors.

Photography is allowed inside the museum, and the lobby showcases a wealth of materials and trivia about Rishiri Island, making it possible to fully appreciate the island's charm even in a short visit.
