A mysterious shrine standing on the coast of Rishiri Island: "Northern Itsukushima Benten Shrine and Dragon God's Rock" ⛩🐉

Located on the coast of Hokkaido's Rishiri Island, Kita no Itsukushima Benten Shrine is a scenic spot that seems almost mythical.

A vermilion torii gate and shrine building sit quietly in a crevice carved into a huge rock,
cherished by locals as the "rock where the dragon god resides."

Known as "Dragon God's Rock," this site is a mystical space where the rugged sea rock and Benten Shrine blend together.

The sound of the waves, the wind, and the light filtering through the gaps between the rocks...all of these elements
awaken the sense that "nature itself is divine."

The enshrined deity is Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto, known as the goddess of water, performing arts, and matchmaking.

The approach and torii gate are rocky, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes like sneakers.

Along with views of Rishiri Fuji and the crystal-clear sea, this is a place where you can truly experience the island's spiritual charm.
