🗺️ Travel Route: Rugao Ancient Town [Sihai Tower] Crab Roe Bun (Wenchang Pavilion is right across the street from Sihai Tower) - Walk past [Dinghui Temple] - Walk past [Maojia Lane] - Walk past [East Street] - Walk to [Shuihui Garden] - Have a Shaobing at Yingchun Bridge
⛰️🛶 [Shuihui Garden]
Built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally the property of Mao Yiguan, a local, and was perfected by Mao Pijiang after four generations. Mao Pijiang renovated the old garden, gave it meaning, and carefully embellished it.
The existing Shuihui Garden complex faces south and is rectangular in shape, divided into left, middle, and right axes. The right axis is Yinyu Studio, which forms a courtyard with Guanhui Hall, Lingsong Studio, and Peony Pavilion. The middle axis is Yuxiang Nunnery, which has four halls: the Gate Hall, the Open Hall, the Boxwood Hall, and the Liuguang Hall, built during the Kangxi period, and preserves relics from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
