Yutoku Inari Shrine

Address: Furueda, Kashima, Saga 849-1321, Japan

Getting there: The closest major railway station to the Yutoku Inari Shrine is Hizen-Kashima Station, halfway between Fukuoka and Nagasaki.

Highlights: Yutoku Inari Shrine is considered one of Japan's top three shrines dedicated to Inari alongside Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto and Toyokawa Inari Shrine in Aichi Prefecture. Inari is associated with rice, prosperity and foxes.

Its main hall stands on tall wooden beams 18 meters above the valley floor. From the main hall's terrace, there is a walking trail leads further into the wooded hill behind the shrine.

Another great thing about this place is that it is open 24 hours and you can enter for free! 😍
