Now you can! Nakon Pathom in Thailand is home to a wild-looking temple that looks part-Chinese candlestick and part-fantasy film set. Named Wat Sam Phran, the 80-metre tall building lets you travel to the top of the real estate via the belly of the dragon.
🚅🚗 How to Get There:
One way is to take a 50-minute train to Nakon Pathom from Bangkok's Aphiwat Central station. It will cost roughly 100 baht. This way, you get to enjoy the quaint neighbourhood of Nakhon Pathom when you arrive. Then, take a e-hail ride or taxi from there which is another 20 minutes away depending on traffic. If time is of the essence, you can always get a taxi from Bangkok which might cost over 700 baht.
💸 Entrance Fee:
Technically, it is free. The caveat is that visitors are expected to make an 80 baht donation to the temple before entering the belly of the dragon.
⚠️ Tips:
- Dress appropriately.
- There are no windows inside the winding cavern of the dragon, so those who are claustrophobic do take note. However, it isn't as stuffy as you might think either.
- You are expected to walk barefoot on your way up as well. So, those with sensitive feet, consider wearing socks.
