Samarkand: Manhattan Restaurant

I bookmarked the Manhattan restaurant in Samarkand when I was planning my itinerary for the city. It had many positive reviews, so we decided to visit it as well.
📍 Mirzo Ulugbek Street, 23, Samarkand, Uzbekistan
The hall we were taken to was enormous. In the evening, there’s live music or a disco here. We were offered to choose any table we liked. We picked one along the wall, but it turned out that all those tables were reserved. We agreed to have lunch within a couple of hours and then leave.
📖 The menu here is huge, practically a book. But the most intriguing part of the menu is the dish selection on the first page. It’s like a "fortune" in tourism, where you don’t know which hotel you’ll end up in. Similarly, here the chef prepares a surprise dish for you.
🥘 For the first course, we chose beef shurpa. The shurpa was very tasty, with a large piece of meat. The broth was rich, and the seasoning was just right. We immediately gave this dish a 5-star rating.
🍲 The second dish was veal sautéed with vegetables. After the delicious first course, this dish seemed a bit bland. It lacked Uzbek spices, although the meat was well-cooked.
🍢 We also ordered grilled lamb chops with vegetables. The lamb had no odor, was tender, and easy to chew. The spices were balanced, giving the dish a piquant flavor.
The service was slow; it seemed there weren’t enough waiters in the hall.
