The Blue Romantic Samarkand Mausoleum Shahi Zinda

From the desolate west of Khiva to the central Bukhara, Samarkand is left for the end of the Uzbekistan itinerary. It’s so romantic that it hardly feels like a mausoleum!
Leaving just after six in the morning and walking there by seven, there were no crowds. The ticket costs 50,000 soms, and I stayed inside for over an hour.
Nearby is a smaller mosque, the Hazrat Khizr Mosque 🕌, also from the 11th century. You can see a panoramic view of the Bibi-Khanym Mosque and visit it as well, with no entrance fee.
