I only knew Shaxian snacks before.
But I didn’t expect that Shaxian also has so many interesting attractions!
Traveling to Fujian during the Spring Festival, I realized that Shaxian is too low-key in the tourism industry💕
This time I will be really amazed by the beautiful earthen fortresses, and it is open to the public for free!
The earthen fort was built by the Zhang family to defend against bandits, and villagers still live there today!
Covering an area of over 10,000 square meters, the three earthen forts are arranged in a "品" shape
Built on the mountain, the layers upon layers are super shocking! 👀
Touch the mottled stone walls and feel the wisdom and stories of the immigrants from southern Fujian during the Qing Dynasty~
🏮One-day tour in Shaxian
✅Double Yuan Burger
Construction began during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty and took 13 years to complete.
It covers an area of 6,500 square meters. It is circular in shape, with an outer wall 0.8 meters high. There are 99 halls and rooms in the castle, and you can also go upstairs to visit.
The overall architectural style is Hui style, with horse head walls and small green tiles, and some parts are integrated with southern Fujian elements. It has a beautiful architectural design while providing defense.
✅Shuangxing Fort
Not far away is Shuangxing Fort, facing a rice field, which looks very spectacular from a distance.
Construction began in the 28th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty and took three years to complete.
It covers an area of about 4,000 square meters. The building inside the fort is palace-style with two entrances.
The whole building is fan-shaped and spreads out from low to high, which is very impressive!
✅Shuangjibao
Located opposite Shuangxing Fort, it is also called Jingde Hall and is the earliest one built.
It was first built in the 27th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. The fort has a compact layout, reasonable space utilization, exquisite carvings on beams and windows, and the painting, wood carving and stone carving techniques are full of local characteristics, integrating Hui style architecture with southern Fujian elements.
From Shuangji Fort you can see the panoramic view of Shuangxing Fort opposite, which is spectacular! 👀
🥢Food
After the tour, head straight to the downtown area of Shaxian County to taste the authentic Shaxian snacks.
Flat meat, mixed noodles, taro dumplings, siu mai...you can eat as much as you want for only 20 yuan per person!
