🇯🇵 [Kagawa Prefecture] Nagao-ji Temple, 87th temple of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage

After the Meiji Restoration, the main temple was provided for public facilities such as schools, police, and county offices (^^)

Locals call it "Nagao's Kannon" and "The temple where Chikara-mochi and Shizuka Gozen were ordained"!

There is a theory that it was founded by Prince Shotoku, but the more common theory is that it was Bodhisattva Gyoki in the 11th year of Tenpyo! When Gyoki was walking through this area, he felt a spiritual dream of a willow tree on the roadside, and he carved a statue of Bodhisattva Kannon out of that tree and made it the principal image ^ ^!!
