🎫Unlimited use of local trains for 7 consecutive days🎫 "Hokkaido & East Japan Pass"

The Hokkaido & East Japan Pass is a pass that allows unlimited rides on local trains for 7 consecutive days.

For more information, see JR East, JR Hokkaido, Aoimori Railway, IGR Ginga Tetsudo, and Hokuetsu Express.

The fare is 11,330 yen for adults and 5,660 yen for children.

It is a great deal that can be used for about 1,619 yen per day.

The sale period is Spring: February 20th to April 16th, Summer: June 20th to September 24th, and Winter: November 26th to January 4th, and it is sold from one month before the start of the validity period until the day of the validity period.

The validity period is Spring: March 1st to April 22nd, Summer: July 1st to September 30th, and Winter: December 10th to January 10th, and you must specify the start date of use when purchasing.

This pass is recommended for those who want to take their time and visit many places during the long spring, summer, and winter holidays.

Please note that if you are taking an express train or Shinkansen, you will need to purchase a new ticket and express ticket.

You can purchase the pass not only at the "Midori no Madoguchi" (Green Window) but also at the "Tasty Ticket" ticket issuing machine.

The ticket cannot be purchased outside the validity area.

In my example trip, I booked only the return flight first and the itinerary was undecided, but

Chiba Minato Station → Utsunomiya Station (using the pass)

Utsunomiya sightseeing

Utsunomiya Station → Fukushima Station (using the Shinkansen at an additional online discount)

Sightseeing around Fukushima Station

Fukushima Station → Sendai Station (using the pass)

Sightseeing in Sendai

Sendai Station → Tagajō Station (using the pass)

While sightseeing

Sendai Port → Tomakomai Port (overnight ferry at additional cost)

The next morning
Tomakomai Station in Hokkaido → Sapporo Station (using the pass)

Enjoy sightseeing in Hokkaido for 2 days while using the pass around Sapporo.

After enjoying sightseeing in Hokkaido

Take a night flight

Use the pass to move to New Chitose Airport.

I flew to Narita Airport on Peach.

From Narita Airport, I used the pass to enjoy sightseeing in the Kanto region.

7 days in total.

It's great value for money to use only local trains,

but I think it's also a fun pass to travel by bullet train, limited express, ferry, and airplane ☺️

I also recommend it for trips where you go wherever you want without deciding on a schedule or destination!

(Just like the Seishun 18 Ticket, there are some sections where you can use "BRT" and "substitute buses" and some where you can use bullet trains and limited express, so please check the "Notes" and "Notes" on the ticket before and after purchasing.)
