📍Moerenuma Park, located on the outskirts of Sapporo
A "living sculpture" left behind by world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
With an area of approximately 189ha (approximately 40 Tokyo Domes),
the artificial mountains, the glass pyramid "HIDAMARI", and the 25m-high fountain "Sea Fountain" create a spectacular seasonal landscape.
In spring, 3,000 cherry trees bloom in abundance,
in summer, children can enjoy the water play area and rental bicycles for strolls,
in autumn, the tree-lined paths are dyed in autumn leaves,
and in winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing and sledding.
It is truly an "art park where you can play all year round".
It takes about an hour and a half (approximately 3.75km) to walk around the park.
You can also rent bicycles and go jogging,
so you can experience Noguchi's landscape while moving your body .
Inside the glass pyramid, you can see exhibits of Noguchi's works, experience air conditioning using snow,
and enjoy sweets made with Hokkaido ingredients at the garden's cafe.
The attraction is that everyone from children to adults can find their own way to enjoy culture and nature.
The idea of "regenerating land that was a waste disposal site with art"
is said to be Noguchi's last project, and embodies the fusion of environment and art.
Set on a land the size of 40 Tokyo Domes, it is an inspiring spot for travel where adults can feel a sense of freedom that is typical of Hokkaido and a fusion of aesthetic beauty .
