Had breakfast at Melt CafĂ© in Mandarin Oriental Singapore and it was one of those mornings that felt like an actual treat. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was calm, welcoming, and just the right kind of elegantânot stiff, just smooth. Staff were friendly, super attentive, and the space had this understated charm with lots of natural light and touches of greenery.
Started with the Eggs Benedict, and it came out perfectly platedârunny yolks, rich hollandaise, and toasted muffin that held up nicely. Then moved on to the Asian cornerâthe fish congee was silky with condiments on the side, and the dim sum basket had char siew bao and siew mai that were freshly steamed and flavorful.
I wasnât planning on diving into the Indian station, but the aroma changed my mindânaan, tandoori chicken, and chickpea curry that was warm, spicy, and comforting. Definitely didnât feel like buffet food, more like something youâd get at a proper tandoor kitchen.
There was even a carving station serving up roast beef and pork belly, which felt pretty extra for breakfast but I wasnât complaining. Everything was served warm and portioned by staff so it didnât turn into a mad buffet free-for-all.
And the desserts? Easily one of the best parts. I had mini cheesecakes, a pandan cream puff, and banana pancakes with maple syrup. Couldnât resist grabbing waffles with ice cream from the live station before I leftâdefinitely worth it.
What stood out most, beyond the food, was how peaceful the whole experience was. Even when the cafĂ© got busy, it never felt rushed or noisy. The service was on pointâquick refills, thoughtful check-ins, and always with a smile.
If youâre staying at the Mandarin Oriental or just nearby at Marina Square, Melt CafĂ© is the kind of place that makes breakfast feel special without being over-the-top. Quality food, relaxed luxury, and a start to the day that actually feels like a moment.
