During my recent business trip to Skudai, Johor Bahru, I stayed at The Square Hotel, a charming boutique hotel set in a lively commercial district. The location couldn’t be better — surrounded by shops, plenty of restaurants, cozy cafes, vibrant bars, and even a shopping mall right across the street.

The hotel itself has a stylish vibe. Their sophisticated rooms come with hardwood floors and tasteful furnishings, giving it a modern yet comfortable atmosphere. Complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea/coffee-making facilities are provided. I booked the Mini Single Room, which was indeed very compact, but clean and comfortable enough for a short business stay.

What I enjoyed most was exploring the surroundings after work. The area is truly a foodie’s haven with so many dining options to try. To wind down one evening, I even caught a movie at TGV Cinema in Tasek Central Mall, conveniently located just opposite the hotel.

Overall, The Square Hotel makes a great choice for business travelers who appreciate a well-connected location with lots to do nearby, paired with chic and comfortable accommodation.
