A trip to the ancients 🗺️

#ancientbuildings

Exploring the ancient city of Ephesus during my summer vacation was absolutely unforgettable! 🌟 Located near the modern town of Selçuk in Turkey, Ephesus is a sprawling archaeological site that offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life. The entrance fee is about €12, which is quite reasonable for such a well-preserved and expansive site.

Walking through the ruins, you’ll see incredible structures like the Library of Celsus, the Grand Theatre, and the Temple of Artemis. Each site is stunning in its own right, and the sheer scale of the ancient city is awe-inspiring. The Library of Celsus, in particular, is a highlight with its beautifully restored facade. 📜🏛️

After wandering through Ephesus, I headed over to the nearby House of the Virgin Mary, a serene and spiritual site nestled in the hills. Selçuk also offers charming cafes and shops where you can enjoy a relaxing meal or pick up some local souvenirs.

Overall, Ephesus is a must-visit for anyone interested in history and ancient architecture. It’s a remarkable journey back in time that you won’t want to miss!
