#familytravel #100waysoftravel
The ancient city of Ephesus is very well known especially for Christians, as a holy place when St. John was preaching and living around this area. This 3000 year old city was founded in the eleventh century BC. One of the most remarkable structure is the Temple of Artemis, which falls under the category of the Seven Ancient Wonders. In front of the entrance stands the Library of Celcius, which the front gate is still remained. There are also the ruins of Temple of Hadrian, the Odeon which concerts are organized, and the amphitheatre as seen in many ancient Greek cities. Lastly, not far from the ruins there lies the tomb of St John, one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus.
