Semporna, a place with a name like poetry. The morning sea is as still as a mirror, the sunlight shimmering on the surface, everything shimmering with a blue dream. The sound of the boat's engine, the waves shattering the tranquility, we glide towards the center of the sea, into a nearly transparent world.
Underwater, another universe unfolds. Corals bloom in the sunlight, and schools of fish, like scattered stardust, dart between the blue and the light. While diving, one hears no human voice, only one's own breathing and heartbeat. In that moment, one feels at peace with the world—no disturbance, no time.
In the afternoon, we landed on Mabul Island. Children played and laughed on the shore, building boats with driftwood and dreaming with the waves. The sea breeze dried wet hair and blew away fatigue. Locals smiled and sold coconut water. Though we didn't speak the same language, we all understood the meaning of "this moment is good."
At sunset, a golden hue covered the sea. The outlines of the islands dimmed, but my heart brightened. Some say Semporna is the last blue on earth. I believe that blue exists not only in the sea, but also in the hearts of everyone willing to stop and see it.
A short day, like a dream. But memories leave a salty taste, reminding us: some beauty can only be seen once, yet it can illuminate us for a long time.
