The Sendai Toshogu Shrine 仙台東照宮

Beautiful little shrine in a quiet grove. Worth a visit if you have a little extra time. Parking available at the site or a leisurely 40 minute walk from Sendai station. A large shrine near Toshogu station (1 stop from Sendai station). You can enjoy quiet atmosphere and good scenery of wooden in heart of town. The stairs are not too high and easy for walking even for eldery. The shrine staffs (miko) are very kind. Please note that Toshogu station is small and has only one platform.
