After 10 years of cultivation, the Sun Valley Scenic Area's plum garden has finally brought plum trees to Meiling, ending the Wanli Scenic Area's history of being without plum trees. According to historical records, the Tang and Five Dynasties period poet and monk Guanxiu built a Buddhist temple at the top of this valley, named "Yuntang Temple." Within the valley, a separate courtyard, also known as "Yuntang Courtyard," was built. Legend has it that Guanxiu's painting of the Sixteen Arhats was enshrined in this courtyard. Meanwhile, during the late Western Han Dynasty, the Nanchang County Magistrate Mei Fu built "Yangling Temple" at the foot of the valley, leading to the legend that "With Yuntang Temple above your head and Yangling Temple beneath your feet, if you can reach this mountain, half the world will know you." Legend has it that thousands of plum trees once covered the hills in bloom around Yuntang Courtyard.
