The columnar joints on Oura Coast are truly a unique sight. Standing here, you can see the black stone pillars stacked up layer by layer, like a spectacular exhibit carefully built by nature. These stone pillars were formed when lava flowed into the sea and cooled and solidified during the eruption of Hallasan volcano. If you look closely, you will find that many of the stone pillars are square or hexagonal in shape, which is very distinctive. The waves below continued to hit the coast with great force, adding to the majestic atmosphere of the place. If you are lucky enough to encounter a storm, the shock you feel will be beyond words.
