🌊🐉 Dragon’s Head Coast at Yongmeori Coast, Jeju ✨🪨

#hellohalloween

Tucked into the south-west shore of Jeju Island in Seogwipo, the Yongmeori Coast is a dramatic seaside spectacle that feels both ancient and alive. Its name — which translates to “Dragon’s Head” — comes from the towering cliffs and layered volcanic rock formations that resemble a mythical dragon plunging into the sea.

Walking along the narrow trail on the wave-cut platform offers one of the most unique coastal experiences on Jeju. The layered sandstone, formed from ancient volcanic debris and shaped by wind and sea, reveals geological history in vivid relief. Around the rocks you may spot wild mussels clinging on, small sea caves hidden in the cliffs, and the scattering of Haenyeo (women divers) selling fresh seafood — adding local life to the natural drama.

Because tide and weather affect accessibility, it’s best to check ahead before visiting. But when the trail is open, expect something unforgettable: crisp sea breeze, sweeping views of Sanbang san behind you, and nature’s raw power on full display. Whether you’re keen on geology, photography, or simply a refreshing coastal stroll, Yongmeori Coast is a must-see on Jeju.
