Longshou Cliff is located on the southwest side of the Big Tianchi Lake in Lushan Mountain. " Dragon Cliff and Flowing Clouds " , one of the twelve scenic spots in Lushan Mountain , refers to Longshou Cliff. The cliff rises steeply, a thousand feet above the ground, overlooking the Shenjian Gorge. From the top of the cliff to the foot, it is in the shape of a square column, like a huge square pillar supporting the sky, with the top protruding outward, like a stone dragon with its head raised, hence the name Longshou Cliff.
Dragon Head Cliff is not only incredibly treacherous but also possesses a mystical allure. As clouds slowly drift over the cliff, the peaks gradually disappear into the clouds, and the cliff resembles a dark dragon soaring and swimming through the mist. It is a must-see for tourists. The peril of Dragon Head Cliff, the clouds of Lingxu Pavilion, and the Buddha's light of Wenshu Terrace are considered the " three wonders " of Datianchi .
Dragon Head Cliff is a great spot for viewing clouds and mist. Whenever heavy fog settles, clouds rise from the deep ravine, and Dragon Head Cliff appears to proudly float amidst a vast sea of clouds. Standing on the cliff, visitors feel as if they are riding the clouds, roaming through space, or riding a dragon, exploring the ocean and playing with the waves. Soon, the fog dissipates, revealing a clear, sunny sky and a verdant landscape. The canyon, power station, river, fields, and farms are clearly visible in the distance.
The best time to see the Lushan waterfall is from October to May .
