Salmon Lovers Must-Try in Hongdae, Seoul

Taking advantage of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I visited Seoul.

As a die-hard salmon fan, especially of salmon sashimi, I make it a point to visit 연어롭다 every time I come to Korea. This cozy semi-basement restaurant is tucked away in the bustling alleys of Yeonnam-dong. To avoid long queues, I recommend visiting outside peak dining hours.

I always order the salmon platter and pasta here. The salmon is incredibly fresh, with each slice being thick and satisfying. The platter includes seared salmon, raw salmon belly, and salmon sushi. Though it may look small, it’s guaranteed to leave you fully satisfied.

The pasta is also a highlight. The texture of the noodles is perfectly balanced, and pairing it with raw salmon is surprisingly harmonious. However, the creamy sauce can feel a bit heavy towards the end, so it’s best to finish it while it’s hot.

For two people, ordering one platter and one pasta is just right.
